Diablo-III-1.0.3.10057-update-Win.zip UPDATED

I could not get Diablo 3 to run on my system with Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 with 2GB and NVidia GeForce 7050D and Win 7 x64. I uninstalled Diablo 2 completely, deleted the Diablo 3 folder from the hard drive and then downloaded the listed file from Blizzard. I started the downloaded file, without installing it, and it crashed once I clicked the battle.net button.

1. Tried the fix described here: http://blogs.unrealengine.com/gamelift/2012/07/29/updating-to-diablo-iii-11-will-take-more-time/ which helped us run through most of the install, however, we still got stuck on Updating Setup Files and couldnt go past it. (Ill post the log file of this to the site if theres interest in that)

If you want to install a program, use InoUnpack it is free. It can be used on Mac OS X and Windows as well. Of course, it only works when the zip file has not been cracked. However, it requires that the unzip tool be available.

Per suggestions posted by our respondents, we used regedit to open the.exe that was launching the Diablo 3 Launcher but it was protected from being opened. We then followed this set of instructions to remove protection on the files:

I am very thankful. I have been playing Diablo 2 for over 10 years now and was very excited when I saw that Diablo 3 was coming out. When I tried to run it I got an error and was unable to find a fix to it. Thanks to you and Jiko I was able to figure out what it was. I have not tried to play it since (only been a few hours since) but I will still keep this in mind for when I do try it again. Thanks!
